How to Play
A SUGGESTION
A player should bookmark the Triviashootout.com Home Page.
This way if you leave the game for any reason, you can return
to the same place in the site by clicking on your bookmark within 20 minutes.
GENERAL INFORMATION
A player may answer any question either by:
1. Using a mouse or
2. Pressing the corresponding number (1, 2, 3, or 4) on their
keypad.
SKILL LEVELS
Level #1 - Rookies (New Players)
All players start at the Rookie level. As a player's skills grow
the player will
be raised to the next skill level to insure fair and fun
competition for all.
Level #2 - All Stars
The All-Star level is attained after a winning more than a certain
dollar amount.
This amount will vary based on the number of players and average
winnings.
All-Stars play in separate games against other All-Stars and win
separate prizes.
Level #3 - Legends
The Legend level is attained after a winning more than a certain
dollar amount.
This amount will vary based on the number of players and average
winnings.
Legends play in separate games against other Legends and win
separate prizes.

Skill Levels will be assigned to all players by TriviaShootout based on their
winnings.

Players can only play at the skill level they are designated.

All players are eligible for the SHOWDOWN HOT STREAK each month
where all skill levels
play for a large cash prize in the sport
of their choice (Baseball, Football or Basketball).
WINNING A GAME
In the Fast 5 to have a game eligible, you must
answer at least 6 questions correctly
Answer a question incorrectly, the game ends but you can
immediately play again!
In the shootouts you must answer all 6 questions correctly to be
considered for a
prize. In the hot streak games any number of correct answers is
eligible for a
prize. In Shootouts and hot streaks when two or more players have
answered the
same number of questions, the one answering in the fastest time
will win the prize.
ELIGIBILITY RULES
All Trivia Shootout games are available to anyone
18 years of age or older, residing in the U.S.
The speed of a player's Internet connection will not be a factor
in determining the winner.
Dial-up and high speed connections have equal chance to win.
A day runs from 12:00am (midnight) (ET) to 11:45 PM (ET).
LIMITS ON WINNERS
In order to give the most number of players a
chance to win prize money on TriviaShootout
we are installing the following limits:
A player is limited to $100 in winnings for each 30 day period
(excluding THE SHOWDOWN HOT STREAK).
A player EACH DAY will ONLY collect the highest single prize won on
that particular day.
Example: A player comes in
second in a Shootout and wins $2.00.
The same player then on the
same day wins a Fast 5 game for $5.00.
In this case $5.00 is credited
to the player’s account. All the other
Shootout players will move up
one place in the leader board. This might
result in a higher prize to
the player moving up.
These limits DO NOT include the SHOWDOWN HOT STREAK.
A player may win the SHOWDOWN HOT STREAK only once in a 12
month period.
All scores posted during a current game day are NOT final. Final
results for a game
will be posted THE FOLLOWING DAY. Since a player is only allowed to
keep the highest
prize won during a single day, there is a chance a player may
receive a higher prize
then originally indicated. E-mail notification of winners and the
amount of the prize
will be made the day after the game is actually played.
Preliminary results each day will be continuously posted on the
winners page.
IF A PLAYER LEAVES TRIVIASHOOTOUT DURING A GAME
Any time a player happens to click on any link while playing a game,
then that game will be over and not be counted. Once an actual game is started
it must be completed. A player can return to any non-game page by either clicking
the "Back" button or by clicking on a link to TriviaShootout.com
If a players does not return within 20 minutes, they will have to login again.
In Shootouts, clicking to leave the game causes that specific game to be cancelled.
GAMES
FAST 5
You get 45 seconds to answer 6 multiple choice,
sports trivia questions
The difference between Fast 5 and the other games is:
The total time for
your five (5) fastest, Fast 5 games played in a day is
compared to the
total time for the five fastest games of every other
player to
determine who is a winner for the day.
Five Complete Games
Playing time of winning games (all 6 questions answered correctly)
is measured
to the thousandth of a second. At the end of each day only the
total time of your
5 fastest games is compared to the total time of the 5 fastest
games
of every other player.
The Official Game Day
Officially each day begins at 12:00 AM ET through 11:45 PM ET). To
our
west coast players this means that game play after 8:45pm PT is
counted
in the results for the next day
4 Ways to Win - Play Closest or Fastest

Play Closest Time:
-
Getting the "Closest Time" to 120 total seconds.

Getting the "Closest Time" to 80 total seconds.

Play Fastest Time:
-
Getting the "Fastest Time" in less than 50 games.
-
Getting the "Fastest Time" in 50 games or more.
The Winning Strategy
Every day you choose from 4 ways win
playing Fast 5. The more games you play during the day, the
lower your total score (for 5 games)
will drop. Pay close attention to your 5 game total score because
there are 4
different ways for you to win - but you can only win in one (1) way
each day.
You choose when to stop play for the day and hold your score.
1. Getting the "Closest Time" to 120 total seconds
The player having a total winning time for five (5) games, closest
to 120 seconds
(without going under), wins. Once you go under 120 seconds
you are no longer
eligible to win this game. There are also cash prizes to runners
up.
Tip:
-
Play to this target time first. If you get a total that is very close to 120
seconds (5 winning games that average 24 seconds) you might want to
keep it to see if you are a winner. (You can check the
Winners page during the day for preliminary results to see how you are
doing.)
Getting the "Closest Time" to 80 total
seconds
The player having a total winning time for five (5) games, closest
to 80 seconds
(without going under), wins. Once you go under 80 seconds
you are no longer
eligible to win this game. There are also cash prizes to runners
up.
Tip:
-
If you accidentally get a total that is under 120 seconds you should keep
trying for a lower score. If you get a total that is very close to 80 seconds
(5 winning games that average 16 seconds) you might want to stop and try to win
this game. (You can check the
Winners page during the day for preliminary results to see how you are
doing.)
Getting the "Fastest Time" in less than 50
games
You cannot exceed 49 games within one day to be eligible to win.
The player having the fastest total time for five (5) games wins.
There are also cash prizes to runners up.
Tip:
-
If you get a low score playing 49 games or less, you might want to keep it. But
if you go over 50 games you are competing with everyone else for the last prize
level.
Getting the "Fastest Time" in 50 games or
more
You must play more than 50 games within one day (12:00 am (ET)
through 11:45 PM (ET)
to be eligible to win. The player having the fastest total time for
five (5)
games wins. There are also cash prizes to runners up.
All players whose time is less than 80 seconds
and who play more than 49 games in a day compete in this game.

Daily Hot Streak Games in Football, Baseball and Basketball
Each day every player can play 4 different HOT STREAK games 10 times each.
In HOT STREAK the player that answers the MOST CONSECUTIVE questions correctly WINS.
In the event of a tie the player that answered the most consecutive questions in the
LEAST AMOUNT of time wins the designated prize. Cash prizes are also awarded to runners up.
The DAILY HOT STREAK has 4 Different games All Sports, Baseball, Basketball and Football.
Players can play each of these games up to 10 times each day.
That means you can play up to 40 games each day.

starting at 11:am ET and continuing until 7:00pm ET.
In the INSTANT HOT STREAK SHOOTOUT the player who answers the MOST CONSECUTIVE
questions correctly WINS. In the event of a tie the player that answered the most
consecutive questions in the LEAST AMOUNT of time wins the designated prize.
Cash prizes are also awarded to runners up.
The Instant HOT STREAK SHOOTOUT has questions in all sports.

SHOWDOWN HOT STREAK

This game is played by the same rules as the PRIME TIME HOT STREAK game.
The only difference is the prizes are larger and the game is played in a
specific sports. This game is played from 8:00-11:45PM ET on a specific day,
once every 30 days. HOT STREAKS will be played in Baseball, Basketball, Football.
The player can choose ONLY ONE OF THE HOT STREAKS.

The date of the next SHOWDOWN HOT STREAK will be displayed on the Game Central and on the winners pages

All players will receive questions with the same level of difficulty.

The player in each sport that answers the MOST CONSECUTIVE questions (in the least amount of time) wins.

A player may only win the first place prize once in any given 12 months.
